THE UNSAID

Birds fly home, Sun sets
As the sky turns amber
I wander aimlessly
Search, what I faintly remember

As tears well up
I look up at the sky
I am still alone
Oh God, tell me why

She was born
but a few years and miles away
I had to wait
till our paths crossed one day

The two shall meet
I bless you, he had said
Will I make her mine ?
He smiled, left it unsaid.

Is it lust or hunger,
Flesh you want to feed ?
Why you call it love
and not carnal desires or greed ?

She will be yours only
This I promise and bless
From now till eternity
But prove your love selfless

I know it is you
Your eyes are still the same
You look at me and smile
Another someone with no name

I watch over you
Content to watch from far
For every moment of separation
My heart carries a scar

Another man takes you
And you carry his name
A union sanctified by society
Where my feelings have no name

I see you, Man and Woman
Jealous, but I cannot be
My shame, I bury deep
Only a smile you shall see

And over the years I learn
Sometimes stumble and fall
Unblemished, pure, selfless
Is this Love, they call

I watch, till I can't watch
and my strength begins to subside
A million questions in your heart
As you stand by my side

Who am I and why
In your tears my heart bled
But I have an eternity to tell you
So, leave it unsaid
